Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us to check for availability. We then liaise by email, telephone or cake consultation to determine your ideas, please be as specific as you wish: pictures, colour schemes, wedding themes etc. are all very helpful at this stage.

Once we both are happy with the concept, I will send a quotation and breakdown. A non-refundable deposit of 50% will be required to secure your order. The remaining payment: 50%, delivery fees and extras (cake stand hire etc. if required) is due 28 days before the wedding.

Again, please contact us to check for availability. If you wish to purchase a ‘signature cake’ please confirm size, flavour and colour requirements. Should you require a bespoke cake, we can liaise by email or telephone. All celebration cakes require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your order.

It is never too early to place an order. I have a strict first come, first serve policy and am only able to take one to two wedding cake orders a week. The sooner you place an order, the more likely you will be able to secure your date.

Orders can be changed up to 28 days before your event. This gives time to have any products related to your order delivered. Please be aware changes may affect your original quote.

For wedding cakes, yes I do prefer to deliver to your venue. Stacked cakes are delicate and can be easily damaged in transit, I want your cake to look as beautiful as it possibly can. Delivery is charged per mile from my Redcar base.

Celebration cakes are a lot smaller and easier to transport therefore are collection only.  If this is a problem please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate.

Please note once you accept receipt of your cake, Gabriella Grace Cakes hold no further responsibility for any damages.

I ALWAYS bake my cakes from scratch; using the highest quality ingredients, free range eggs and where possible British products. I DO NOT use packet mixes and believe though this may save time, the taste, flavour and texture of my cakes would suffer and I am not prepared to let that happen.

Currently, I do not cater for special dietary requirements. All my cakes contain wheat, gluten and eggs and although most of my cakes do not contain nuts, they are made in a kitchen where nuts are used. I cannot guarantee that products do not contain nut traces.

I do offer tastings and consultations on wedding cake orders where you can sample up to four flavours of cake with a maximum of four attendees to discuss your ideas and requirements. Consultations are by appointment only and cost £20.00 – this will be taken off your deposit should you place an order with Gabriella Grace Cakes.

NB. If a deposit has already been made tastings and consultations are complimentary. Please note that cake tasting flavours need to be decided when the appointment is made.

Of course, for both wedding and celebration cakes with more than one tier, each tier can be a different flavour depending on your preferences. Please visit the flavours page to make your decision.

Yes, as long as they are suitable for cake use and don’t contaminate the cake. I am happy to work alongside your florist and recommend that they supply the flowers. Please seek advice on toxicity and which flowers are best to use from your florist.

NB. Gabriella Grace Cakes cannot be held responsible for contamination of your cake from the use of fresh flowers.

I do not make novelty cakes. I specialise in sugar flowers and wedding cakes, so unfortunately do not supply novelty cakes – there are lots of local cake companies who do dedicate themselves to this style and I’d be happy to recommend suppliers if required.

Yes, cake stands are available for hire on request.
