I’ll always remember, as a child, sitting on top of my Grandmas worktops, mixing bowl on lap, spoon and mixture in my mouth. It was a running joke in my family that we always had to make double the mixture or there wouldn’t be enough for the cake! Even in our final years together, I would still get told off for eating the crumbly biscuit we would top her Apple Crumble with. Some of my earliest and fondest memories are of baking with ‘Gram’ so I founded Gabriella Grace Cakes in 2016.
I’ve always had a creative streak, formally an actress, professionally training in Musical Theatre at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama, I moved to London to pursue this vocation. It was in London where I rekindled my love and passion for baking and began to make more and more for friends and family – testing out new flavour combinations. Self-taught with the occasional class from leading UK cake designers, I soon learned new skills and began to develop into a business, getting ever more requests, enquiries and orders. In 2016, I decided to follow this passion and return to where it all began, home, Redcar.
Supplying across the North-East, Gabriella Grace Cakes specialises in wedding and ‘occasion’ cakes with a modern, elegant and artistic flair. I embrace both bespoke and personal design with flavour and taste to create cakes that are not only beautiful to look at but exquisite to eat.
